Michal Cohen, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Honolulu HI
I bring a calm, compassionate presence to the therapeutic relationship, creating a space where all parts of you are welcome—especially the ones that may have felt silenced, shamed, or hidden.
Whether we’re working in traditional talk therapy or exploring expanded states through cannabis-assisted sessions, I take a collaborative, client-led approach. Together, we slow down, get curious, and gently explore the roots of your patterns—not to pathologize, but to understand and integrate. I pay close attention to what's happening in the moment: your body, emotions, language, and nervous system—all rich sources of insight.
Our work may include inner child exploration, somatic awareness, mindfulness practices, or guided inquiries rooted in Compassionate Inquiry and other trauma-informed modalities. I hold a nonjudgmental, grounded container where you can explore both the pain and the wisdom of your experience.
My intention is always to support your reconnection—to yourself, your truth, and your inner capacity to heal.
Michal Cohen, LCSW, is a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering virtual therapy services across Hawaii, California, Utah, Pennsylvania, and Florida. With a Master of Science from Columbia University School of Social Work, Michal brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice. She first came to Hawaii 15 years ago to work with veterans who had experienced combat trauma or military sexual trauma. She left the VA to pursue a private practice where she could embrace her love of cannabis. She has also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in both Madagascar and St. Lucia. She is passionate about surfing, yoga, and exploring new cultures, bringing a rich tapestry of life experiences to her therapeutic practice.
I offer individualized 1:1 psychotherapy sessions tailored to your unique needs, pace, and goals. Sessions are available for adults seeking support with trauma, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, emotional regulation, and self-discovery.
Depending on your needs and interests, sessions may incorporate traditional talk therapy, mindfulness-based practices, Compassionate Inquiry, brainspotting, and cannabis-assisted psychotherapy (where legally permitted and clinically appropriate).
Whether you’re seeking short-term support or long-term depth work, I offer a grounded, nonjudgmental space to explore your healing journey.
Sessions are offered virtually, with limited in-person availability.
