Emily Dufrane, LCPC
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Baltimore MD
I collaborate with folkx using a parts work (Internal Family Systems or IFS), trauma-informed, mind-body-spirit approach. I utilize both top-down & bottom-up processing approaches as well as creative interventions (art, music, nature & movement) to allow for changes in awareness & regulation. I also use Brainspotting therapy and offer BSP as an adjunct service to those linked to a talk therapist.
As a trauma informed and competent counselor, I recognize that one's self and worldview are shaped and molded by traumatic experiences, intimate relationships, and occurrences in the greater world around us. Our culture teaches us to conform for love and acceptance, to change our bodies and beliefs to fit the status quo, and to value working over living. Through the process of therapy, I will collaborate with you to uncover your wisest, most authentic Self and harness your strengths ultimately to learn how to navigate life’s ebbs and flows connected to your values, needs, and desires.
Above all, I believe that love, empathy, and understanding are the keys to emotional and body liberation. Change is possible when you learn to shift out of judgement and into compassionate, curiosity. Together, we will navigate through discomfort in order to open space for acceptance and inner peace. I look forward to hearing from you!
Hey there, my name is Emily and I am the owner + operator of Sacred Crow Counseling and Consulting, a psychotherapy practice located in Baltimore Maryland. I'm so glad and grateful that you landed on my profile. Thanks for checking it out!
As a person - I am a fan of crows, lover of nature, and spiritual explorer. You can typically find me cuddling up with my kitties at home, sipping some hot tea with a good book, and jamming to folk, indie, and bluegrass music. I identify as a queer, cis, white, woman, and my pronouns are she/her. Other identities of importance to me are that I am pansexual, a daughter, a partner, a musician and creative, a highly sensitive person, a “recovered Catholic,” and a neurodivergent individual. I love to laugh and be silly, as well as taking delicate moments to cry and surrender. I am deeply emotional and use this strength in both my personal and professional life.
As a professional - I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and have been working in the mental health field for roughly 9 years. During my undergraduate career, I studied Psychology at Towson University, and later went on to receive my Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2019. During the duration of my career in mental health, I have had the privilege of working in both in and out-patient settings along with partial hospitalization programs. Additionally, I previously worked at a local mental health crisis center and interned at a nonprofit organization for victims of intimate partner violence. I am a member of the Cohort of 2024 in Vital's Psychedelic Integrationist Certification Program and am also currently studying Sensorimotor Psychotherapy under Janina Fisher.
