Ellis Kim, LCSW, LICSW
Psychotherapist & Clinical Social Worker

My therapeutic work has intentionally become more experiential over time in order to promote more rapid exploration of core issues. Informed by my personal experiences in therapy, I hope to minimize long periods of “looping” in fixed, intellectualized discussions which can appear to be about important content but are often disconnected from underlying emotional experience.
My approach is based on the approaches of Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which are both mind/body modalities. These approaches have been transformational for myself and many clients I have witnessed because they offer an orientation of radical openness and compassionate inquiry about all parts of your experience.
I come from a STEM background (originally attending MIT), began my career as an investment banker and investor, and then changed careers to psychotherapy.
